The Royal Oak in Pateley Bridge is to undergo a major refurbishment and open in the new year, it was announced today (November 2).
The pub closed on October 22 following the retirement of long-serving owner Robert Jackson.
The Stray Ferret revealed Trust Inns, which owns more than 350 pubs, was expected to buy the pub, which is situated on Bridgehouse Gate in Bewerley.
Commercial property agents Everard Cole has now said it has completed the acquisition on behalf of Trust Inns for an undisclosed sum.
It said in a statement the move “marks the beginning of a new chapter for the traditional Yorkshire pub, which is set to undergo a comprehensive refurbishment before reopening in the new year”.
James Boshier, director (north) at Everard Cole, who handled the acquisition, said:
We're delighted to have completed the acquisition of The Royal Oak on behalf of Trust Inns. Pateley Bridge is a fantastic location, and it's encouraging to see an established operator committing to the future of a traditional Yorkshire pub.
The licensed property market continues to present opportunities for operators looking to expand their portfolios, and we're seeing continued interest from clients actively seeking suitable sites.
