Individuals and community groups in Starbeck are being invited to apply to an annual grants programme for projects that enhance the quality of life in the area.

Starbeck Community Fund was established in 1992 as part of the redevelopment of the Morrisons supermarket site on Hookstone Chase.

Administered by North Yorkshire Council in partnership with Starbeck Residents Association, the fund issues grants of up to £500 to individuals and up to £15,000 for groups.

Applications in 2026 opened on July 1 and close on August 16.

There are three funding streams available:

• Individual grants (up to £500) — For applicants aged 25 or under, supporting projects, schemes or courses that enhance educational, sporting or cultural development.

• Community grants – Fund Two (up to £2,000) For groups and organisations seeking to improve or expand recreation or community facilities.

• Community grants – Fund Three (£5,000 to £15,000) For larger projects that enhance quality of life, add value to the local community and increase opportunities for residents and volunteers.
