The following comments were left under our article about a new date planned for the opening of the new road at Kex Gill.
That date cannot be achieved. Duncan’s Folley is not safe for traffic to use.

We drove past it last Friday, all I can say is they're being rather optimistic.

Why don't they stay silent until the day before they know it will open to avoid further ignominy? What a fiasco.

I am a member of the Pinewoods Conservation Group (PCG) and a Trustee of the Pinewoods. I was in the Pinewoods this morning at 8.00am not far from Valley Gardens, when I saw a black Labrador type dog chasing a young deer through the woods. No sign of the owner who I could hear calling the dog, far away. I tried to find the dog and the owner without success. The police have told us to report this type of behaviour, which I have now done.
In my experience, most dog owners are responsible, and they always keep their dogs under close control and in their sight, as they should. Annoyingly, I am seeing more irresponsible dog owners recently who let their dogs run wild and out of their sight. This can be very dangerous to other dogs, children playing in the woods and also the wildlife living there. Their dogs could also be pooing anywhere without the owner knowing and again this is a health risk. The PCG is asking that all dog owners please keep their dogs under very close control and within their sight at all times.
