Plans revealed for 140 homes in Killinghall
New plans have been revealed for 140 homes in Killinghall.
Vistry Group and Yorkshire Housing have proposed the new scheme, which would be built on land off Nidd Croft.
The developers are carrying out a public consultation into the plans ahead of a planning application being submitted.
According to a consultation site, the move would see a mixture of houses built, including affordable homes, alongside new green space, a children’s play area and new pedestrian and cycle links.
The plans would also include new landscaping and habitat creation with links to the surrounding countryside.

The developer added that the homes would incorporate low-carbon technologies, including air source heat pumps (ASHPs), photovoltaic (PV) panels and electric vehicle (EV) charging points.
In the consultation, Vistry Group and Yorkshire Housing said the new scheme would help to contribute towards housing need in the area.
It added:
There is a significant need for new homes locally and across North Yorkshire. The proposals would help contribute towards meeting this need by delivering a range of new homes in Killinghall, including affordable housing, through shared ownership and affordable rent.
A public exhibition for the plans will be held at Killinghall Village Hall, on Otley Road, on October 6 between 3pm and 7pm.

A formal application for the development is expected to be submitted to North Yorkshire Council at a later date.
