A commemorative oak tree presented by the King has been planted in the grounds of Duchy College in Harrogate.
He gave it to the school when he visited it in May, which was the first time the school has welcomed a reigning monarch.
The native British sapling is one of just 80 presented by King Charles III ahead of his 80th birthday in November 2028.
It came at a significant time for the school, which changed its name from Harrogate Ladies' College to Duchy College upon becoming coeducational this autumn. The King is also the Duke of Lancaster, on whose land the school was built.

Joanna Fox, principal of Duchy College, said:
We are delighted to have been gifted this oak tree, which will take pride of place in our grounds and provide a lasting reminder of what was a very special occasion.
His Majesty’s visit came at a particularly significant time in our school’s history, as we were embarking upon an exciting new chapter as Duchy College.
The tree also carries a wonderful sense of history and symbolism, having been planted in the first year of Duchy College. It will grow and flourish alongside generations of pupils, becoming a lasting part of our school community.
There was a tremendous sense of pride among the staff and pupils involved in His Majesty’s visit. It was a privilege to welcome him to our school and a moment I know will be remembered fondly by everyone who had the opportunity to be part of it.

During his visit, His Majesty discussed balancing A Level studies with extra-curricular activities with prefects, before remarking on the beauty of the school’s setting, admitting he had not quite understood the school’s outstanding location in Harrogate.
The college chapel choir sang With A Voice of Singing and the Sevenfold Amen for the King, and Year 6 pupils performed songs from their production of Looking Good, Robin Hood, which the King "thoroughly enjoyed".
Alastair Martin CVO, chief executive and clerk of the council at the Duchy of Lancaster, said:
The planting of this oak is a fitting way to mark what was a very special day for Duchy College earlier this year.
As the school begins an exciting new chapter, we hope the tree will grow alongside the school and provide a lasting reminder of His Majesty’s visit for generations to come.
