Plans have been submitted for a new housing development in Beckwithshaw.
Ashflame Harrogate Limited has applied to North Yorkshire Council for permission to demolish a bungalow and build five homes on Howhill Road.
The scheme would be constructed alongside land on which government housing agency Homes England has secured planning permission for its Bluecoat Park development of up to 480 dwellings.

A design and access statement by TAG Design Associates on behalf of the applicants says:
The removal of the existing bungalow presents an opportunity to introduce a high-quality, low-density residential development that responds positively to the character of Howhill Road and the surrounding semi-rural landscape setting.
It adds features such as stone walls and mock slate roof tiles “will create a high-quality and timeless appearance”
Ashflame Harrogate Limited, which is based in Warwickshire, acquired the site for £1.05 million in 2023.
North Yorkshire Council will decide whether to approve the plans.
