A new guide has been launched to help parents and carers find free and affordable activities to keep their children busy over the summer holidays.
Harrogate & District Community Action has created the guide to help families cope with the practical and financial pressures of the extended seven-week break.
The guide lists a variety of outdoor activities, community events, creative endeavours, and family attractions, alongside opportunities hosted by local charities and community groups, throughout Harrogate, Knaresborough, Ripon and the surrounding areas.
Angela Jones, HADCA’s information and communications officer, said:
The summer holidays should be a time for children to make happy memories, but we know that seven weeks can be a real challenge for families – especially those already feeling the pressure of rising household costs.
We hope this guide helps parents and carers discover affordable ways to enjoy time together, while also highlighting the fantastic community organisations across our district that work so hard to support local families.

The guide will be continuously updated during the summer, and HADCA is encouraging local community organisations, charities and businesses to email hadca@hadca.org.uk with information about events or activities that aren't currently listed.
Families can find the full and downloadable guide on HADCA’s website.
HADCA is dedicated to bringing the community together by collaborating with local charities, community groups and volunteers, making it simple for residents to find help, stay connected and enjoy the best of the district.
